Sizing:

Our Small Dog Category is designed for:
Collar sizes ranging from 8” to 11”
Clothing sizes ranging from 6” to 22”

Our Medium Dog Category is designed for:
Collar sizes ranging from 11” to 15”
Clothing sizes ranging from 22” to 28”

Our Large Dog Category is designed for:
Collar sizes ranging from 16” to 24”
Clothing sizes ranging from 28” to 36” and over

Measuring:

Collar: First, measure completely around the dog’s head at the widest point. Second: measure around the neck where the collar should ideally rest. Snob Hounds suggests the use of a cloth measuring tape. Remember, exact measurements should be taken to ensure an accurate and elegant fit.

Then select the width of collar. A rule of thumb is, the smaller the dog, the narrower the collar. However, consider the beauty of a thin elegant collar on a larger dog.


Clothing: First, measure from the base of the neck, where the neck joins the body, to the base of the tail, where the tail joins the body. Then measure completely around the fullest part of the chest. Remember, exact measurements should be taken to ensure an accurate and elegant fit.

Snob Hounds collar width recommendations:

5/8" to  1" wide collar for neck sizes 8" - 11"
(Italian Greyhounds, Malteses, Yorkies, Chihuahuas, toy Poodles, small-sized mixed breeds, etc.)

3/4" to 1" wide collar for neck sizes 11”-15"
(Boston terriers, Dachshunds, Jack Russel terriers, Shih Tzus, miniature Schnauzers, miniature Poodles, Whippets, midsized mixed breeds, etc.)

1" to  1 1/2" wide collar for neck sizes15"-19"
(Airedales, Dalmations, Irish Setters, Weimaraners, Corgis, larger Whippets, smaller Greyhounds, various mixed breeds, etc.)

1 1/2" to  2" collar for neck sizes 18"-23"
(Labs, Golden Retrievers, Boxers, Rottweilers, Dobermans, Basset Hounds, a variety of sight hound breeds, large mixed breeds, etc.)
